[What we assess]

Understand your exposure. Plan your next steps.

A vulnerability assessment starts with a clear scope. We agree which systems are included, then document the findings so your team can make informed decisions about what to address.

01 / SCAN COVERAGE

Internal network scanning

Assess agreed servers, workstations, and network devices for known vulnerabilities, missing patches, and configuration weaknesses.

02 / SCAN COVERAGE

External vulnerability scanning

Scan agreed internet-facing systems and services to identify known vulnerabilities exposed outside your network.

03 / SCAN COVERAGE

Web application scanning

Include web applications in the scoping conversation. We confirm the applications, access requirements, and available scanning coverage before work begins.

[How it works]

One scan. Clear findings. Your next move.

The scan and report have a fixed fee. Any remediation is a separate decision, with hourly support available from the team that assessed your environment.

01
[Fixed-fee assessment]

Scope it. Scan it.

We agree on the systems to assess, access, timing, and a fixed fee before work starts. Stratum then runs the agreed vulnerability scans using Tenable Nessus.

02
[Report included]

Know what to address.

We prepare and deliver a report of the findings, with severity and recommended next steps. Your team gets a clear view of the issues identified and where to focus first.

03
[Hourly remediation]

Get help fixing it.

Use the report with your own IT team, or ask Stratum to help address the findings. Remediation is agreed separately and billed by the hour.

Questions about vulnerability scanning

What does a vulnerability scan find?

A vulnerability scan checks the systems in scope for known security weaknesses, such as missing patches, outdated software, and misconfigurations. Findings reflect the access available and the conditions at the time of the assessment; a scan cannot guarantee that every vulnerability has been found.

Is vulnerability scanning the same as penetration testing?

No. Vulnerability scanning uses automated checks to identify known weaknesses. Penetration testing goes further by attempting to exploit weaknesses to assess their impact. This service covers vulnerability scanning, reporting, and optional remediation.

How much does a vulnerability scan cost?

Stratum quotes a fixed fee for the agreed scan and report. The quote depends on the scope of your environment, including the systems, sites, and applications to assess. Any hands-on remediation is agreed separately and billed hourly.
